Safety Inspection Techniques for General Industry
(UCSD 823)

This two-day course introduces private and public sector personnel to the most commonly used workplace safety inspection techniques, procedures and standards. A simplified approach to the goals and outcomes of safety inspections enables participants to accurately plan and prepare for workplace inspections. Special emphasis is placed on creating checklists and reports. The course highlight is a mock safety inspection of a local facility.

Required Equipment: Students will need safety shoes and appropriate clothing for field exercise.

This course is part of Workshop Week.

  • Plans and preparation
  • Establishing priorities
  • Inspection systems
  • Inspecting emergency equipment and plans
  • Lockout/Tagout of machines
  • Checklists and reports

Fee: $395
Time: 8:00 am-4:30 pm
Travel plans must accomodate the 4:30 end time.
