OSHA 5400 - Trainer Course in Occupational Safety and Health Standards for the Maritime Industry

This is a Trainer Course for those interested in teaching the 10 and 30 Hour Maritime Outreach Program. Special emphasis is placed on required Outreach topics, using OSHA standards as a guide. Students are taught effective adult instructional techniques. This course authorizes students to become Maritime Outreach Trainers.


Required prerequisites (to be confirmed on the completed Verification of Prerequisite Form):

  • OSHA 5410 course completion
  • Three (3) years of maritime safety experience
  • Two (2) years of occupational safety and health experience (with a broad focus) in any industry
  • A college degree in occupational safety and health, from an accredited college or university
  • An ASP, CSP, CIH, CMC or CSHM designation

Prior to enrollment, students must provide the following:
  1. Verification of Prerequisite Form
  2. OSHA 510 course completion documentation

Travel plans must accommodate the course end time.
