Cal/OSHA Outreach Training Program

In 2010 Cal/OSHA and Federal OSHA established a partnership wherein authorized Federal Outreach Trainers, who fulfill additional eligibility requirements, can also teach 10 and 30 Hour courses based on California's Title 8. The same requirements apply in the delivery of these 10 and 30 Hour Outreach Courses.

To become a Cal/OSHA authorized outreach trainer you must have the following:

  1. A current Construction or General Industry outreach trainer authorization
  2. A minimum of one year Cal/OSHA experience

All Cal/OSHA authorized outreach trainers are required to complete the Statement of Compliance and the Statement of Eligibility.

Please note: If your trainer card is from another OTIEC other than UCSD and you become authorized to teach Cal/OSHA outreach courses, you will submit ONLY Cal/OSHA Outreach classes to UCSD. You will continue to request the Federal Outreach cards from the other OTIEC. A trainer's Cal/OSHA authorization expires the same date as his/her Federal Outreach Training Program authorization.

It is the sole responsibility of the OSHA Outreach Training Program authorized trainer to adhere to the most current guidelines and requirements. The OSHA Outreach Program Requirements detail the latest updates.

How to submit an OTPR and request student cards:
  1. Upon successful completion of a trainer or trainer update course an account is established (or updated) in Storefront and an email and temporary password are sent to the trainer. If you do not receive an email please contact the Outreach Department at oti-outreach@ucsd.edu or 858-534-9283.
  2. Login into the Storefront portal.
  3. Follow these instructions to submit an OTPR on Storefront.
Outreach Card Fees:
  • Outreach Student Cards: $8.00 each
  • Lamination (optional on student cards only): $2.00 per card
  • Replacement Student Cards: $30.00 each
  • To order a replacement student card, please contact the Outreach Department. Students can request one replacement card if the course end date exceeds five years.
  • Replacement Trainer Cards: $30.00 each

Replacement Card Orders:

Effective June 1, 2018 the Outreach Department will implement a new fee structure for entire class and single replacement card orders.

Entire class replacement orders:

1-5 cards per order: $8.00 per card
6-20 cards per order: $50.00 fee
21 or more cards per order: $100.00 fee

Cards lost in the mail are required by OSHA to have FedEx tracking. This charge will be included in the order.

Single card replacement orders are still $30.00 per card.

Effective June 1, 2018: $5.00 shipping charge per order
