Safety Associate Certificate

This Specialized Certificate in Occupational Safety and Health is designed for those new to the industry that want to learn the basics of safety. In a series of short, intensive one and two day courses, participants receive a broad introduction to this vibrant and meaningful career. Instructors - all safety professionals - cover a wide variety of real-world safety and emergency preparedness topics including accident investigation, evacuation & emergency planning, fall prevention, machine guarding, electrical, confined space, public warehousing, business disaster preparedness, safety for small business and more.

Jobs are available in safety at the tech and management levels and the field is growing at an annual rate of 8 percent. Since July 1, 1991 California law has stated that every employer “shall establish, implement and maintain an effective Injury and Illness Prevention Program.” Employees with this capability are needed through-out the state. The Safety Associate Certificate prepares you to participate in this exciting career whether you are increasing your skills at your existing employer or searching for a new career.
